PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention and Support) is to improve and maintain a positive classroom and school climate in order to achieve higher academic performance for all students.
What’s Happening at Wiley?
Expected behaviors and procedures are defined, taught, practiced and reinforced. A team of staff members meet regularly to determine effectiveness of processes and to study data collected. Specific expectations and procedures for defined areas of the school campus have been developed and taught to the students. When demonstrating expectations, students can earn either whole class or individual “Globetrotters”. These cards are collected by the class, and when goals are met, various reinforcements are provided. The students enjoy being successful and the staff enjoys focusing on the positive behaviors.
